Every six month (March and September) the International LOFAR Telescope opens a call for proposals. More info following this link.
LOFAR.IT acquires an additional 33 hours of observation time per semester (per cycle) which can be used to directly sponsor particularly deserving proposals submitted in response to the various Call for Proposals.
Once obtained the proposals list, and the Telescope Technical Panel positive report regarding their technical feasibility, a commission, appointed for the purpose, will suggest the distribution of the 33 hours.
